Wed 14th March - In the middle of the darkside of the manic tour...
hey everyone.. The tour has been really successful and fun so far, so thanks alot to everyone for coming along and supporting us!! Unfortunately there has been a bit of a darkside in the middle of the manic tour.. with jessies father passing away last week.. He was a truly talented man who was an inspiration to us as a band and as individuals, he was loved by everyone who met him and will be sadly missed by all of us.. A good friend of Morganas is also in a critical condition after being involved in a serious car accident over the weekend and this deeply affected us also.. We send our love to her..and we are all hoping and praying that she will return to us... So this is why we had to cancel the peaches and cream festival and the espy shows, sory to anyone who we dissapointed!! We are soldiering on and are finishing the rest of the tour.. so we will see you on the road somewhere soooon.... One last thing.. thanks to everyone who has been voting for manic in the net 50.. it is up at no.25 at the moment.. which is the highest placing we have reached yet!! so keep voting and we will make it up to no. 1!!! nitocris xoxox

Tuesday 6th Feb - The AFTERMATH of the whole BDO tour
Well what can we say?? The BDO tour was the best 2 weeks of our lives.. we had sooo much fun, saw so many good bands and met so many strange and interesting people!! Lets just say that the tour ended with all the bands hanging out on a grassy knoll out the front of the Perth after party saying our goodbyes and then someone decided to turn the sprinkler system on!!! hehehe... Adelaide was the hottest and the smallest but that didnt stop us from rockin out!!! There didnt seem to be as many people who were familar with our stuff over there (this is understandable as we havent done neearly as many shows over there as we have on the east coast..) but it was good because I think we managed to win over several hundred new fans!! The highlight of the Adelaide BDO for us would have to be when Queens decided to do a Kyuss song.. we all nearly died!! Kyuss have been a MASSIVE influence on us!! Perth was awesome also, not as hot which was good and the lovlee BDO staff provided us with a pool and spa backstage which was very nice indeed.. not many of us went for a dip in the end because there were rumours of an unnamed band member releiving himself in the murky waters!! GROSSSSS... hehehe... The whole tour was amazing and we cant wait to get back on the road for our national headlining tour.. keep posted for the tour dates which will be up any day now! It will be throughout Feb/March and April.. if anyone has any questions/complaints/compliments dont forget you can email us in the interactive section and also dont forget that if you are having trouble finding our album, get the lazy store owners to order us in or go along to www.chaosmusic.com and order it online.. Good to see that you all made it nice and early to the BDO to catch our set.. thankyou everyone for being so dedicated and supporting australian music.. we love youse all and we'll see you in your hometown on our tour!! nitocris xoxoxo
30th January - After the Sydney and Melbourne BDO
I am sitting in our hotel in Melbourne at the moment typing this on our TMs laptop..ahh technology is vunderful!! Both the Sydney BDO and the Melbourne BDO shows were AMAZING!!! It was good to play to all our friends and family in our hometown of Sydney, we saw lots of familar faces in the crowd.. so thanks to all who braved the early hours and made it to see our set.. there were lots of you!!!! I smashed a friends guitar at the end of the set.. I honestly didnt think it would break into that many peices.. sara and me almost vomited after the set because it was sooo hot and the show was so intense.. we all lay around afterwards pouring water all over ourselves!!! The afterparty was at the Cue bar, I didnt make it but all the girls went and apparently they spent the night dancing with Rammstein, Powderfinger, Queens of the Stone Age and the Happy Mondays.. amoung others.. apparently the night was very funny!! We flew out the next day off to Melbourne and arrived with fans waiting at the airport.. so we signed some stuff and got some photos taken.. there were fans waiting at our hotel also.. we were starting to feel like real rockstars!!!! The Melbourne BDO was amazing also.. it would probably have to be my favourite so far, because it was cooler and the crowds were into it but mellower.. I got to see heaps of other bands that I have missed at the previous shows such as PJ Harvey, At the Drive In and Rammstein.. all of who were fukin excellent! The after party was huge.. but after 20 shots of cocksucking cowboys with Brian from Placebo and Josh from Queens I had to go and haave a big nap!! So here we are three days before the Adelaide BDO we are getting bery excited and cant wait to rock out at another show.. this tour has been an absoulte DREAM!!! We cant wait to get back on the road after it and do our own shows all over the country, the dates will be up soon.so keep posted and we'll see you all soon!!!!!
Thursday 25th Jan - The eve of Sydney BDO
Well here we are..it is the night before the sydney BDO and it feels like christmas eve as a kid again!!! We are sooo excited, I dont know if we are going to be able to sleep tonight! The Gold Coast BDO was HUGE!! It was soooo hot.. but let me start from the beginning.. The Screaming Jets tour was a resounding success.. all the shows were packed and we reached areas that we had never been to/heard of before.. As expected we got on like a house on fire with the jets and their crew and it became more like a summer holiday than a tour as we stayed at many beachside towns. We spent the days at the beach and the evenings rockin out and partying all night.. we met soo many interesting people and had a ball in every town from down south in Tathra to up north in Yamba!! The tour ended with us getting up with Jets to perform "shivers" and the jets getting up with us the following night to perform "fat bottom girls". It was a rock n roll extravaganza!! Unfortunately at the last show my treasured baby (my gibson les paul that i recieved for my 18th birthday) was stolen!!! Although this was extremely upsetting, we soldiered on up to the gold coast for our first BDO show. We arrived at about 6.30am and managed to get a couple hours sleep before our 8.30am wake up call.. we were soooo tired, but the adrenaline kicked in and off we went!! After waiting around anxiously for the next couple of hours and being convinced that not many people would be there that early, we were completely ecstatic when we walked out on stage and the place was PACKED!! Go the Gold coast early birds!! WE luurve youse! The show was awesome, although saras bass amp blew up and andi broke her snare skin, we had so much funn and realised how many devoted queensland fans we had, it looked to me as if there were quite a few newies to the nitocris experience as well.. the old fans and the new alike all seemed to enjoy the set!! Afterwards we all went back to the hotel to catch up on some well deserved zzz and made the most of the swim up bar on awakening.. We managed to catch some of PJ and At the Drive In who were both exceptional!! Andrea watched a bit of Rammstien and the Bizkit while we all made the most of a communial 28 days/nitocris rider backstage.. All up it was a great start to a fuckin amazing and well organised tour, go the BDO for remaining one of the best festivals in history!!! See you at Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth...(eearrly) : ) xoxoxoxox
Friday 15th December - The silly season break..!
Although we have been having a 3 week december xmas break, we still have lots & lots of exciting news for you all!!! For those who were not too lazy/vague/pissed/all of the above at our shows and remembered to sign our guestbook, expect a brandspanking new xmas edition of our newsletter in the next couple of days.. Jess, Andi and me(kira) made wonderful use of bored family members yesterday afternoon and stuffed over 600 envelopes for the nitocris cause.. Jess's 7 year old niece was exceptionally helpful, especially when we realised that she had been forgetting to put the cards in and was folding the newsletter in a manner that made it impossible to seal the envelopes..so if you recieve a strange looking nitocris newsletter and wonder why it is all crumpled and has grubby fingerprints all over it, you'll know why..hehe... aaanywaay for all those who were too pissed at our show and forgot to sign the guestbook.. here is pretty much what it contained.. *Andi is to star in an TV ad for the youth media awards, the ads will be airing throughout dec/jan so keep an eye out for her dressed as supergirl...! She has also been asked to be one of the main spokespeople for the awards.. GO ANDI!!! *Morgana had the lucky opportunity to perform with Jeff Duff on his iggy pop and loureed tribute nights , Steve Balby , Brad Sheperd ,Jodie Smith , Damien Lovelock and Josephhhhh Were just a few of the magnificent talents she performed with . Morgana also had the opportunity to perform with the scientists (Kim Salmons old Band) . That was a treat again many rockers such as Bow from Front End Loader , Tom from Luxedo , Brad Shepard members of tumble weed and numerous others .. all took to the stage to do thier version of a scientists song fun fun fun........ * We have recently been sponsered by Arnette sunnies thanks to the lolvee PR guy, Nik Wright, who took me and Andi out for drinks all afternoon..! We thought about all the early summer festival action coming up and decided that we needed some serious eye protection.. fortunately the lovlee people at arnette agreeed! *We were chosen as one of the lucky recipients of the ever generous 'council for the arts' grants.. We were given $17 500 to help us out with a national tour next March, the money raised will help us go over to America to do some shows and possibly record a new single..! SIIICK!! *The latest single of the album, Manic, will be released anyday now.. it has been remixed ny Mike Letho and sounds fucking HUGE!! Hopefully it will be followed by a film clip so keep an eye out for it early 2001! *WE are getting all new merchandise made up for next year..YEEHAH! We will have new stickers, baseball shirts, singlets, the second pressing of the official nitocris video and signed stuff too!! so look out for it all in the merch section of this site or at our all our live shows... *the site will be experiencing a huge overhaul come next year, thanks to our ever-faithful hardworking team, Gavin, Sean and Rob.. We are going to incorporate flash, a tablature page, a new merch section and heaps of new photos thanks to the lovlee Corrie... *Dont forget that if you still cant find our album anywhere you can go to www.chaosmusic.com and order it on-line.. Thats about it for now.. keep the e-mails coming in and we will do our best to keep you up to date with all the news as it comes to hand.. See you at Falls and the BDO!!!!!!! YEEHAH!!!!!!!

On Friday morning Nitocris rose rather early in the morning to make their way down to the A B C studios , To be a guest band on a new drama series that is currently being filmed ...called Love is a four letter word .. It was an interesting experience for us ,having an audience moshing to our songs ,because they were paid to be there .Specially when the myming was in comlete silence .... All you could hear was the gentle pitter patter of moshing feet hitting the ground ......It was quite surreal at times ... So keep your eyes and ears posted for Love is a four letter word ....on the ABC.....Staring some top notch Australian actors ..rumour has it that quite a few local bands will be on this show .....

Tuesday 8th August - The aftermath of the Melbourne/snow/Sydney launches...
Hey everyone!!! We just got back from the start of our album launch tour...!! The sydeny show was a huge success, we had the Newtown RSL jamm-packed with eager Nitocris fans!! Sorry to all those who were turned away on the night.. and also to all those crazy semi-naked stage divers who got thrown out!! It was so cool to see all our friends, family and new and old fans there.. Thanl-you all for making it such a huge night! The Canberra show was awesome and it was also sold out!!! Then we headed off to the snow (Mt Hotham, VIC) and got completely lost, the drive was supposed to take 8 hours and ended up taking 15.. My god I think we drove all over the state of Victoria trying to find it!!! So we ended up getting there 15 mins after we were meant to go on stage.. thankfully the staff there were understanding and very hospitable, giving us the largest bottle of vodka I have ever seen!! The show as huge and there were lots of drunk snowboarders running around.. We then headed off to Ballarat (better known as crakafat to all the road-weary nitocris members and crew... the show was good although we did interupt a disco to go on stage(!?) Finally we rolled in to sunny Melbourne where we rested our weary hangovers with another great show at the Punters Club..we caught up with all our mates down there and hooked up with Maton, Shihad, Dr Hex, Caroline Tran, Motorace and Weta amoung many others..Finally our last show at the Espy on the Saturday night was another huge one with various members from Weta getting up on stage with us for our Fat Bottom Girls cover.. Once again the lovely, yet slighty insane, Gabba stole the show!! We partied the last night away yet again then all headed back to the lovely Sydney on the Sunday.. It was a good drive home although there were numerous disgruntled taking in turns of the crappy middle seat with no head rest!!! This friday we do it all again in the beautiful central coast twon of Woy Woy with our friends the Porkers (check out there version of Kickstart my heart on the new Metaaliska compilation....) anyway until next time take care all you crazy Nitocris fans.. keep hassling JJJ to play us and keep all your wierd and wonderful e-mails coming in..!! We love youse all!!
